Supporting You With Our Experience
With over 20 years of experience in home care services, we have a very good understanding of the challenges in the home care industry. In today’s environment, we all need to be cautious of who we allow in our home. That’s why By Your Side Home Care’s screening process is so stringent. We also know the caregivers we refer through our thorough registration process and prior client placements.
Not only that, we are there to assist clients when the unexpected occurs. By Your Side Home Care is there to provide you with ongoing referrals that can fill-in when your caregiver is sick, goes on vacation or an emergency occurs. We offer 24-hour emergency access to additional caregivers if and when such situations occur.
As your service needs change, By Your Side Home Care is there to immediately respond to your new circumstances. If you have a need for additional caregivers due to a sudden illness or an increase in service needs because of deteriorating health, By Your Side Home Care is only a phone call away.
By Your Side Home Care also maintains professional liability insurance for your added peace of mind.

Paige Barnett, Care Coordinator
I took a data processing class that taught me bookkeeping skills as well as basic to moderate computer skills. These skills helped me into the banking field for several years before I chose to become a nursing assistance. During this 6-year time period, I was not only able to learn all of the necessary skills to care for someone, I was also able to learn how to open up and bond with the patients that I cared for.
After the arrival of my daughter, I decided to take a part time position in sales and bookkeeping at a housing company. This helped to develop my customer service skills, phone skills, and billing skills. I also began to take care of people as a private duty in home care worker. This was quite a different avenue than working in a facility and I fell in love with in home care.
In 2011, I was offered to join the team here at By Your Side Home Care. I started as a caregiver recruiter and added care coordinating shortly after. It has been a wonderful experience knowing that we are able to help keep people in their homes and I feel rewarded each day.
I was born and raised in Lancaster County and continue raising my own children here. We enjoy hiking and swimming and as a proud mother I have enjoyed watching both of my children compete in soccer for the past 8 years.
Sharon Kolenda, Client Intake Coordinator
Sharon has 28 years of experience as a District Manager for American Greetings and General Mills. After retiring from the corporate world, Sharon found her calling when helping a fellow parishioner under Hospice Care through her church. That’s where By Your Side Home Care discovered Sharon.
Sharon has been working for By Your Side since 2006. Sharon is currently an Intake Coordinator but has worked as a Manager and Care Coordinator throughout her many years of service. Sharon genuinely believes in the mission of By Your Side Home Care and has helped many families find appropriate care throughout her tenor.
Sharon is the mother of two grown children, Mike and Kim and is blessed with 7 grandchildren. Sharon is also a dog lover and has three furry children which occupy much of her time.
